The Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid vacuum and mopping machine is a great option for those who live in multi-floored apartments. Its dual motors offer an impressive cleaning capacity and the 0.6l dust bin can hold a lot of pet hair. The dustbin can be easily removed and empty which is great as you'll have to do this on a regular basis.
It's simple to set up too, although I recommend fully charging the X8 Hybrid before running it for the first time. Install the Eufy Home application and follow the instructions to connect it to your WiFi network. The app will then help you to create an outline of your home. You can label rooms or divide rooms into sub-rooms (good for open plan living) and guide the X8 Hybrid to specific areas that require cleaning at a given time. Eufy's app is more intuitive and precise than other robots that have similar mapping and scanning functions.
The X8 Hybrid has a great feature: you can control the mop or vacuum through voice thanks to the integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. This is a nice touch that makes the robot even more hands-free. It also is very effective in our test house.
The X8 Hybrid, like many robotic vacuums, has a few problems with floors that are not fully covered. It is prone to miss pet hair and other small objects, and it is prone to bump into things, like its own charger that sits on its base for charging. It's also not as quiet as some other models we've tested and the whirring sound can be distracting.
Roborock V3S pro
This model doesn't have the same features as the more expensive models we tested, however it does have the basics covered. It was the best of all robot vacuums we tested in terms of finding and avoiding obstacles and it's the best budget pick for those who are looking for a cleaner self-emptying robotic vacuum that can take care of pet hair and messes both on hardwood floors and low-pile carpeting. It's also quiet and has a large dust bin which can hold a lot of dust before it's time to empty it.
The V3S Pro did not make it into our top choice lists of trusted sources who perform hands-on tests, but it received high marks from Modern Castle, Smart Robot Reviews and The Ambient. The V3S Pro was easy to use and set up, however the battery life was a bit short.
